It’s no joke that I absolutely love shooting senior photography in a garden! Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana is definitely in my top 5 locations for all seasons - spring, summer or fall! I had the pleasure of capturing class of 2025 senior EVIE in late July for her senior pics. Don’t let this beauty fool you - it was HOT! It doesn’t happen very often, but we actually rescheduled to a day where the temperature was below 90. Evie didn’t mind - as warm summer days are her favorite. She brought along 4 great outfits and we were able to get a lot of variety. From a short and long dress to casual jeans and floral top, we were able to maximize different looks with a variety of nature foliage - from golden field, to tropical landscaping, to the wide range of colorful flowers. Be prepared - this public garden is spread out and requires a lot of walking. I often suggest bringing a pair of slip-on shoes and lots of hydration! What I love most about Coxhall is that the garden is designed with plenty of architectual structures for posing - from gates, steps, doorways and bridges. There are the most stunning views of our Indiana sunsets!
