I’m always overjoyed to capture this young family! The Alspaugh Family of four celebrates another family milestone at their home in Peru, Indiana. Just a year ago, Jarrod and Ellie were expecting their second baby - and we had the best time photographing their maternity pictures. One year later, baby boy is getting ready to celebrate ONE YEAR around the sun!

I love to capture a young family with a combination of posed family shots - and candid close-ups and action! Because really? Life is way more FUN when we are playing, dancing, and snuggling. It’s the best way to capture the pure joy that kids bring to our lives.

I’m so honored to be able to say I was a part of Anna & Lincoln’s wedding. Fun fact: it was my FIRST time capturing a wedding! This group made it such a wonderful memory!

The beautiful bride started her day getting pampered with her three bridesmaids for hair and make-up. We met up at Anna’s home to get ready for the big day. We were so lucky to have sun - despite the forecast.

Anna and Lincoln decided not to see eachother before the ceremony. They also chose to have a small ceremony with close friends and their large families. Anna’s dad held off tears as he walked her down the aisle and hugged Lincoln tight to give his blessing.

The couple welcomed a large crowd to celebrate after at Pleasant Hill Church. The wedding party made a grand entrance - as each couple danced their way in. The night was filled with wonderful food, music, dancing and bull-riding! It was beautiful to see so many friends and family gather to celebrate their special day.

Introducing Noblesville High School Class of 2023 Senior RACHEL! I met up with the Miller family in Downtown Noblesville to capture Rachel’s portraits with some of her favorite things!

This smart and studious Senior loves to read and write so we started near Noble Coffee & Tea for a few pics with some of Rachel’s favorite books. We ventured around the city square exploring the alleys and painted murals. Rachel brought along her upright double bass and I enjoyed listening to her play in the streets! We ended our time together near the Potter’s Bridge.

Rachel plans to attend medical school after graduation. There is no doubt this Class of ‘23 Senior has a bright future ahead of her!

Welcome Peru High School Class of 2023 Senior EMMA!

We had a magical evening for Emma’s senior portrait session at Celebration Gardens of GardenGate Greenhouse. We were blessed to have an hour of beautiful sunshine before it started to sprinkle. During her style consultation, Emma only had one request - flowers! The garden is in its prime - full of vibrant annuals, colorful bushes and glowing grass. Can you imagine how excited we were to end with a rainbow?

Emma brought a great variety in her outfits - from a simple white sundress, casual fall sweater and plaid flannel jacket paired with denim jeans. I often urge seniors to bring a few transitional looks if possible. Even though it can be warm in late summer, when the sun sets it is usually cool enough to add a few layers. Emma brought her ballet slippers for a few creative images.

I absolutely loved capturing North Miami High School Class of 2023 AUBREY’s Senior Photography session in Peru, Indiana. This girl has a style all of her own and did an awesome job of connecting with the camera for some stunning senior portraits! We met up at a local sunflower patch - about the time that a small rain shower was passing through on a summer evening. Aubrey chose a floral summer dress for her first outfit. And, WOW - she nailed it!

For her second outfit, she chose a black pleated skirt paired with a ribbed midriff tank and her black military boots. The combination really sets off her eyes and red hair highlights. We did a quick wardrobe change and headed to the woods for a moody forest vibe. Aubrey really brought a lot of her own expression and style. At one point, I just let her lead the way.

Aubrey is the daughter of Kraig and Tracy Burns. She attends North Miami H.S. and is on the Warrior wrestling team and is a member of the Miami County 4-H. Aubrey plans to study Mortuary Science after she graduates. Congratulations on your SENIOR YEAR!

I’m a big fan of SUMMER Senior Photography sessions because everyone is excited for their upcoming SENIOR YEAR! Maconaquah High School Senior Maggie is no exception! But before a new school year starts, she is off to show her prized Grand Champion Heifer at the Indiana State Fair. It’s an exciting time for 4-H youth from all over our state to present their livestock animals in Indianapolis. We got a chance to capture Maggie’s senior pictures with her cow at their farm pastures in Peru, Indiana. I LOVE Maggie’s style and she rocked the western vibe with her beautiful turquoise accessories and kickin’ flare jeans!

These two have grown up sharing a beautiful friendship and are looking forward to starting a life together when they get married in September 2022. Anna & Lincoln are well known and loved in northern Miami County. I met up with this young couple at Lincoln’s grandparents farm outside of Macy, Indiana. Tucked in the hills of rolling farmland, the Wildermuth homestead is so peaceful and serene. Both felt right at home as we walked the property to capture engagement portraits.

We talked about their upcoming wedding to take place at the Akron Church of God. The reception will follow at their soon-to-be home in Rochester, IN. Anna & Lincoln were both excited to share the planning details - and look forward to celebrating with friends and family this fall.

One Year Old Baby Milestone Photography is one of my favorites! How can you not be happy when there is cake and balloons???

Baby J.D. is getting ready to celebrate his first birthday! Mom was excited to get a variety of family and individual poses for baby’s one year milestone photography session. We decorated with blue, gold and white balloons for this handsome blue eyed, blond haired angel! He dove into his white cake with icing before we even got the cake topper situated! It didn’t take long for his hands to be covered in vanilla icing. In fact, Mom had to take it away - it was so good!!!

What is better than cake? Um, a bubble bath! We got the cutest expressions in the little white bathtub. Mom and Dad blew bubbles while J.D. played with a rubber ducky. He definitely did NOT want to get out.

Spring Senior Photography on Farm

Class of 2022 Senior Kianna is looking forward to her last year of showing animals at the Miami County 4-H Fair. As a 10 Year member, Kianna was so bummed to miss out on one of those years due to Covid restrictions. Her favorite calf Booty quickly grew and became ineligible to show in her division. I was eager to capture Kianna with ALL of her animals because I know how precious this time is.

We had beautiful weather for Kianna’s spring Senior photography session at her family’s farm just outside Peru, Indiana. May is the perfect time to capture farm photography with new baby animals! I got to meet her goats and pig - before they head to the fair! We ended our session with two of her pet dogs,. These two were full of energy and so excited for the attention. She is going to miss them next fall!

Hats off to Maconaquah Class of 2022 Senior KIANNA!!! As a three season Senior, we captured a wide variety of locations and outfits with her Summer, Fall and Spring Senior photography sessions. From wildflower fields, fall leaves, to her 4-H animals on her family’s farm, Kianna will have so many memories to look back on from her Senior Year!

Kianna will be majoring in education / criminal justice and playing Golf at College of the Holy Cross in South Bend this fall. Wishing her all the best for her future!

It’s always bittersweet when my high school students start booking Graduation Cap and Gown sessions! I couldn’t be more excited to watch Speedway H.S. Class of 2022 Senior Margaret end her high school days and start a new chapter! Maggie will be attending Purdue University in the fall to study Child Psychology. I’ve watched this shining star grow up - and I couldn’t be more proud of her! Maggie is a very talented musician and actress performing in choir, theatre and color guard.

For Maggie’s final senior Photography session, we venture to a few local spots to capture some relaxed nature shots. Leave it to this girl to perform a little song and dance in the rows of apple trees at the orchard. 🙂 We ended our night at Speedway High School to capture Cap and Gown photos around the school. Congratulation, Margaret!

Introducing Class of 2022 Maconaquah High School Senior BROOKLYNN!!!

It was so much fun capturing this young artist in Kokomo’s revitalized downtown urban streets! And a little intimidating … to work with another creative who has their own unique vision! But I think I captured Brooklynn’s spirit to a T!

This young lady is quiet and kind. Her eyes tell the story of the challenges she has endured. But once she lets her guard down, she shares her heart with a smile.

With only days left in her Senior Year, Brooklynn is looking forward to studying Science and Art in the future. The streets of Kokomo were full of creative murals, sculptures and unique building features we used as our backdrop.

But, I have learned in the end, it’s not always about a unique location. The subject tells their own story! I always try to pose and prompt for authentic interaction with the camera. Whether you are walking down an alley, twirling your hair in a field or taking a squat in a patch of flowers - you might as well have FUN!

We ended our Senior session at a local park just before the sun was setting. Have you ever wondered why we start so late in the evening? 👇 This light! It was perfect for capturing “a few” Cap and Gown photos before the chaos of Graduation! Enjoy these last few day - soon it will be a memory 🙂

Is there a special place that speaks to your heart? For this family of five, being together at their family farm in northern Miami County, Indiana brings so much joy! I was so honored to capture the Gee Family’s portrait photography on a late summer afternoon. They told me how they treasure spending long weekends at Grandma’s rural property - playing, relaxing and soaking in the fresh countryside air.

Their three kids love to ride in the ATV, toss the football and build campfires. They even spent the weekend gathering walnuts. During our session, I got to visit all of their sentimental spots. A small red barn sits a top of a hill. We walked the long lane through the cornfields back to an old railway. But my favorite place was the tree lined driveway with a wooden fence!

This opportunity was most definitely a gift for Mom! We chatted about how long it had been since they had gotten family portraits taken. I totally get it - 100%! Now that my children are grown, I look back at the photos we have had taken and cherish them all. From babies to teens, each stage shows a different side of our family’s dynamic and the kids’ individual personalities.

I love to deliver a large gallery full of a variety of poses and groupings. From candid & posed family to siblings groupings to individual portraits, you will be able to design a gallery wall or heirloom album with photos that you love!

I love Prom season! What a magical time for high school junior and seniors in Indiana! I’m excited to feature this great group from Maconaquah High School. We met up at a private lake property outside of Peru, Indiana on a warm and windy day to capture some portrait and candid prom photos. The girls looked AMAZING in their prom dresses! Their dates were super cool and had a lot of fun with posing. It was a bright and sunny day and everything sparked!

My tips for planning your Prom Portrait Photography Session:

1. Book your hair and make-up appointments earlier in the day to allow plenty of time to get ready. Arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow time for cell phone pics.

2. Bring an extra pair of flip-flops or slip on shoes - just in case you’ll be walking - especially in grass.

3. Find a great location to inspire the look you want - whether outdoors nature or urban streets.

Jagger is turning ONE!

I was so happy to have a family in the studio for a One Year Old Cake Smash session. This sweet 12 month old baby boy was sooo much fun to watch as he had his FIRST taste of icing and cake! From the minute his parents put the confetti cake in front of him, he dipped his lips over and over again - savoring each bite.

We kept the backdrop for this cake smash very simple and pure. A garland of white & clear balloons with twinkle fairy lights puts all the focus on baby boy. I love to see those little fingers and toes covered in buttercream icing.
